Oct 2008- Present American Express: Working from home as a .Net web and windows developer where I support American Express Business Travel Europe. I am the sole technical consultant and customer facing representative in the EMEA region.

I was involved in the full project life cycle architecture and used VB.net 4.0 and XHTML to architect, design coordinate and help build a portal which integrates thru XML and web services into four travel API and GDS systems and produces localised travel itineraries. The GDS systems included the Amadeus and Sabre systems. Also used Advanced Data Transformation methods to export and import date between the systems. Backend which the application used was Mysql 5.1 which made use of complex stored procedure development.

April 2007 Oct 2008 Fixtureslive.com and EquineAffairs.com I worked from my home office as a lead web developer for FixturesLive and Equine Affairs, two London based companies who host an online fixtures and results service that provides clubs, organisations and associations with online management and communication tools.

Architected and managed the project plans and used Asp.net 3.5, Iron speed designer and Linq for a reporting/CRM system called myshowSecretary.com.

This system also made use of advanced JavaScript, Ajax and Telerik controls. In addition this sub project also involved creation of CSS and table-less HTML for the front end along with some PHP to maintain and integrate a legacy web application.

(Jan 2006 – April 2007) Amadeus France I helped gather business requirements, Analysis, design and implementation of Database schema enhancements for an E- travel management backend. Worked closely with the API team to design and implement the database structure to support functional development.

This included the design and development of complex stored procedures and DTS/SSIS processes using Access, SQL server 2000 and later SQL server 2005 liaising with various developments and testing teams, creating designs, prototyping and mentoring/ reviewing code with the development team. Used Crystal reports and SQL services 2005 reporting service to deliver financial and business orientated reports.

(Feb 2003 – Jan 2006) DEFRA (Atos Origin & IBM): Worked on the CO2 Trading Registry project. This was a Full project lifecycle role including conception, analysis, design and implementation of high profile EU/UN emission trading registry website and web application for the UK government and 11 EU member states as part of the Kyoto agreement to reduce world-wide emission levels.

This role involved hands on recruitment and day to day management of a team of six developers. In addition I developed an interactive exchange of data via XML and web services with European Commission international trading broker module.
